Works well. Will it have indentations from your roller-comfortable executive chair? Well yes, if it isn't on a "Hard Floor". When placed on a carpet base, it (mat) will not move as the underlying stubs securely hold it in position but will allow some indentions due to the weight placed on it. They are not permanent and will re-establish as your chair settles into another location. I bought it for the size only. I don't expect a carpet mounted mat to not do the proverbial indentations. Good price and shipment (Big Box with item folded in half). 5DisappointedWarning: This mat does not work well on low pile carpeting. It's far too thin. My office chair wheels sink into the mat making just as difficult as rolling on the carpet. Worse yet, when I tried to return it, the seller insisted that I return it via UPS and pay the return shipping which would have been $144!!! This is nearly three times the cost of the mat. I expected returns would be free. That's not always the case. I will have to throw this mat in the trash as I have nowhere to keep it and can't find anyone who wants it. 1Another company that doesn't stand behind their product. I ...Another company that doesn't stand behind their product. I purchased this mat approximately 4 years ago. With the product came a lifetime warranty against cracking. My vinyl mat has a number of small cracks in about 10 locations. I filled out all the warranty claim form, took pictures as instructed and included the original UPC label in my warranty claim. ES Robbins denied the warranty claim because of a carpet + pad thickness loophole. This "medium duty" mat rests on an office grade carpet with low pile on a high quality pad. At least the product description now includes the appropriate carpet plus pad thickness that the mat is meant for use with. They should further clarify that the warranty is only valid up to the advertised thickness of the mat and pad. This information was not covered in the product description when I bought the product. I recently upped my rating from 1 star to 3 stars as after some e-mail exchanges with ES Robbins customer service and a couple of phone calls, they did offer an upgrade to the premium mat for a nominal fee ($20). Responses to my e-mails were slow, but ultimately, they did stand behind their product. A word of caution: Read the small print about the warranties on these products. 3and the chair leaves pretty serious indentions in the plastic where each of the ...this is very thin plastic. It rests on low pile, industrial carpeting. I am 170 lbs. and the chair leaves pretty serious indentions in the plastic where each of the set of wheels rests. I am, however, able to wheel around on this just fine and coming on and off the mat is no problem because of the low profile of the mat at the edges. I have only had it a couple of weeks (so, in fairness I need to give it some time) and it was a very good price. 3Less than satisfactoryI was disappointed with this chair mat because it was too thin and flimsy. The mat developed depressions under my chair's rollers that made it difficult to roll the chair. (My carpet has low to medium pile and I weigh 155 lbs.) It was also difficult to get the mat to stay flat because the edges tended to curl up, especially if one of the chair's rollers was near the edge. I must add that I also did not like the strong smell this mat had -- similar to new vinyl shower curtains. If you are on a tight budget, this chair mat might suffice. At least it would provide some protection for your carpet. But overall, I was not satisfied with it and decided to get a more substantial one made of polycarbonate material. 2... loaded four with stickers which do not peel off easily. This totally ruins the aesthetics of the product ...This came loaded four with stickers which do not peel off easily. This totally ruins the aesthetics of the product because now I have partially peeled stickers from top to bottom on this thing. I may have to invest in some goo-gone or a similar product to get all of the sticker adhesive off.I recommend to avoid the product. As a chair mat, it works fine, but the manufacturer ruined this product with so many sickers! 2Does not last more than a couple months with regular use on low-pile carpet. Not as thick as I expected, and after having only two months has already cracked. My carpet is a fairly low pile, so am a bit disappointed. I still gave 4 stars because although there are a couple places it cracked, they have not totally split as to allow my chair wheels to catch or go through like the other brands have. I am also a heavier person, so I am considering that too.It did ship rolled up, but I had no problem laying it out on a hard, flat surface (spike side up) and letting it relax and flatten out. It took a couple days to lay totally out flat, but have not had any curling problems.Overall, I am happier with this brand than I have been with others.UPDATE 03-04-16: The entire middle part of the mat has cracked into a LOT of small pieces. Mat is trash at this point. Am very disappointed in this product/mfgr, and will not be purchasing this brand again. Will take another reviewers suggestion and take 3/8" plywood and cover it with a nice, low-pile carpet (match d cor of my current carpet). Reducing my 4-stars to one star as the product does not last and therefore does not rate any higher. 1FlimsyThe material is flexible and flimsy, and only a few minutes of sitting in my office chair put permanent dents in the mat; so now every time I sit in the chair, it rolls right into those spots. The mat does not stay in one place and moves around on the carpet quite a bit. 2Mat Self-destructed in Less Than a YearI've had this mat for less than a year and I absolutely hate it. There is really no other way to state my experiences with this brand of vinyl mat.I have very good quality medium pile carpet in my home office. I had a vinyl mat purchased at a major office supply store and it lasted nearly 8 years. As with all mats, it eventually began to crack where there was a lot of wheel traffic. The same mat was no longer available at any local stores, so I decided to try this mat from Amazon.com. All was well for about three weeks, but then I noticed it tended to "walk" and fail to stay anchored. It would push up against the base of my desk and start to buckle. About every eight or nine days I would have to move everything around my desk and lift and reposition the mat. Sometimes I could go as long as a month - and then notice that the mat had actually "walked" up against a table leg and started to buckle. Then I noticed small cracks on the underside of the mat, not on the surface - like it was shrinking. This was all very confusing to me as I do not roll around in my office chair a lot and am not overweight in any sense. Finally, the mat just started cracking and splitting, even in areas where my rolling chair does not venture (like under a desk extension where my chair never rolls. I now have to get another vinyl mat quickly as this one is literally breaking up right under my feet. (Our home is not excessively warm or moist - temperatures are very stable in the mid to low 70s.) I have no clue why this mat would begin breaking up - and walking - so much more than the previous mat I had that lasted nearly a decade. Hopefully, my experience is an oddity, but I doubt it. 1In the vernacular of today's youth, I am disappoint.I have never before written a product review, though I've always appreciated the people who did. I am prompted to write this one due to my dissatisfaction with this product.Strike One: I only weigh 138 pounds (with rocks in my pockets) and my chair put such deep dents in the mat that rolling my chair requires more effort than is reasonable.Strike Two: The little knobby things on the bottom are too short. The mat slides out of place.Strike Three: There was a shipping label from the vendor to Amazon that left a criminal amount of mucilage on the mat. No technique I tried could remove any of the mucilage. I had to cover it with something so my foot wouldn't stick to the mat. After one day I have thrown the mat in the recycle bin and taken up the carpet so my chair sits directly on the tile floor. Out of gratitude to my fellow consumers who have helped me decide which products to buy over the past several years I feel it is my duty to repay the favor by warning everyone: DON'T BUY THIS MAT! 1
