Lenox Winter Greetings Plaid Saucer

Beautiful, Timeless, Elegant Thanks to my mother, I have a set of Lenox (Eternal) dinnerware. For years, she loved receiving pieces of it for birthdays, anniversaries, mother's day, etc and her set grew from six to eight to twelve place settings, plus just about every bowl, pitcher, trinket ever offered in the Eternal pattern. The set had its own cabinet, which also had to grow over the years, and timer controlled diffused lighting came on every night making it the focal point in the dining room. It's funny that we rarely sat in the dining room for meals or ate off the china. Dad joked that mom was forever ready for the Pope or the President to drop in. When she was alone and moved to smaller quarters, all of that china was carefully packed away in boxes which later came to me when she passed. I've moved those boxes three times and they remain unopened, stored in the garage on multiple shelves.Receiving this Lenox bowl reminded me of the beauty of my mother's. I love the almost translucent quality, as well as the vibrant red and green plaid band which is elevated to elegance with simple, bright gold trim. A sharp tap of my fingernail against its side produces the tone that only fine china can. The pattern of the set that this vegetable bowl is a part of is called Winter Greetings. I imagine a table full of matching pieces lit by candle light would be stunning. With the holidays approaching, this bowl has me thinking of putting mom's china back into action again. I'm thinking it deserves some love. Thanks for the memories Lenox. 5 Five Stars Love the pattern! Made the holidays cozy and festive 5 Five stars... My wife LOVES this set.It is excellent quality & feel, has a generous (but not overdone) gold rim on everything, and has rich, traditional Christmas colors. And the simple pattern means it'll go with just about any level of Christmas decorating.I wish Lenox didn't fear the word "Christmas" - it doesn't offend anyone - and there's nothing "wintery" about Red and Green.The plaid pattern is made to look sort of stitched - taking the edge off the don't-touch-the-fine-china phenomenon. The cup and saucer set are good by themselves; the cup has four gentle vertical grooves, making it visually interesting.No complaints whatsoever. Even the high price seems fair for what you get (though remember you probably will only use it in December). 5 Five Stars Love the simple pattern. Will blend in well with my other Christmas china. 5 Gorgeous and Versatile Holiday China The Lenox Winter Greetings Plaid place setting is a gorgeous set of bone china that is not only perfect for holiday use but many people would love using it year round. I personally know a few who are very proud of their Scottish heritage and would enjoy using these pieces with a tartan band. I personally like how this pattern coordinates well with other Lenox patterns. In particular, the Winter Greetings pattern with birds and ribbons would obviously mix and match perfectly. I can also see the Holiday Tartans and Holiday patterns both working well with it also. Lenox offers and wide range of accessory pieces that allows you to customize your holiday table to meet your own taste and needs.These dishes are beautiful and I want a complete set of both the Winter Greetings and the Winter Greetings Plaid. Alas, I have neither the funds nor the room to store them all. Additional place settings are definitely on my wish list. 5 It was very pretty dishes. I'm deeply satisfied It was very pretty dishes. I'm deeply satisfied. 5 Best quality -- dishwasher (China mode) safe I have these Lenox plates, matching serving China including oval plates, covered and un-covered serving bowls, etc. They have held up well for many years including the gold rims around the outside of each plate, saucer, and cup. They are widely available and easy to find even years after the are manufactured. You can even buy specialty servers which are made by companies that purchase the basic plates and cut holes in them to make stacking dessert tray servers.I typically hand-wash the larger server plates and bowls, but I regularly dishwash the place settings including this entire set of plates. I use the China mode (on my older Jenn-Air and my newer LG dishwasher) and have never had any warping or other problems. NOTE: Use the China mode -- DO NOT dishwash with the sanitary or 160 degree setting because that definitely damage them.In terms of handling I honestly find that they are more sturdy than regular (daily) use China. I've never had a problem with any of these chipping either in use or in storage. I do stack them about 8 high for the plates in storage and two high for the cups in storage and have never had a problem there either.I have these same plates in two different patterns. I hope that says enough -- that I liked the first set enough to invest in a second (Christmas) pattern. I've always gotten compliments on them and you will not be disappointed with the quality of Lenox. 5 Lenox is the Best! Yes, the plate is lovely! Thank you! 5 Five Stars Really beautiful.....thank you. 5 Festive Oval Bowl The Lenox Winter Greeting Plaid Vegetable Bowl is a nice piece. The bone china has a nice luster and looks fine. The pattern which looks to be a Scottish tartan, evokes the winter holiday season and the shiny gold trim is a nice touch too. It's not very large but enough to hold a side dish for 4-6 people or so. Lenox proudly states that it is the only manufacturer of bone china in the U.S.Claims to be dishwasher safe. Made in USA. 4
