Customer Reviews

shockingly good stuff The 3/16" Sgt Knots bungee cord arrived quickly and in perfect shape. It came in a study bag with a printed label that has all the pertinent information. (I wish the bag had been a reclosable ziplock-style ready for long term organized storage in my tub with rope, cords, bungees, and cables. Not a biggie. I'll use the label on one of my own 4-mil zip bags.) The bungee cord seems to be very good quality. Good stretch and quality feel to the covering. Covering does not unravel when cut, and it's easy to burn-seal the ends after cutting. In the bag, there is a slight odor, but that's to be expected in a 50' coil of a rubber product. In the pieces I've cut, once they've been out of the bag for a short while, it's pretty much undetectable, even indoors. Since I've had this product only a couple days, I can't speak to longevity and durability, but my confidence is up based on what I've seen so far. I've tested for slippage with a few cord locks. In general grip was adequate and about average, definitely better than on the paracord I tried with the same cord locks. (BUT... there is one cord lock I just got that has outstanding grip on this DiamondGrip cord -- the unique-looking Paracord Planet springless double-bow dual hole. Serious grip! https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CT3WRBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )I don't know what I was thinking, but I underestimated the thickness of 3/16". I was looking for something to use in my hiking boots and trail running shoes that has firmer stretch than the 1/8" bungee laces kit I've been using. Love the firmness of the 3/16" but, unfortunately, it's too big for the loops and holes in my shoes. No matter, I've got plenty of other uses in mind for 3/16". I've already replaced the drawstring in my Cabelas fleece sweatpants. It's perfect for that. This is good stuff; I recommend it! 5 There's Nothing Like Good Shock Cord to Install Shade Cloth I used this 1/4" shock cord to install two large custom shade cloths (7' x 11' and 20' by 22') over my mother-in-law's Anthurium growing area. The cord is thin but is extremely strong, ties into a nice knot and cuts easily with sharp diagonal cutters. I ran anchors in the wall every 2' to match the grommets in the shade cloth and then ran the cord through each grommet and tied two knots in one end so it wouldn't pull back through. Then each was stretched to the right length and tightness through the anchor, tied off, and trimmed neatly (at the end, once everything was suspended properly). It is easy to untie this cord and go back if adjustments in lengh are needed. With this pro grade cord, the shade cloth is evenly supported and will withstand high winds because it will give as needed and absorb the shock throughout the entire surface area. With the leftover cord, I helped my neighbor secure a new tarp over a 1946 jeep he just bought to restore, knowing that elastic cord does a far superior job than rope when it comes to securing tarps against the wind. 5 If using on a project that has grommets be aware of the diameter of this cord to avoid buying one too large This product was very easy to use to repair my zero gravity chair. When the original bungee cord lost its elasticity I was unsure how to fix the chair. I did a search on what other people did to repair their chairs & saw they used bungee cord. I felt 3/16th would be the best size as too large would be difficult to go thru the grommets, I did double up at stress points for safe measure at the bend in the chair at the knee. I double and triple knotted at the ends which wasn't difficult to do. You do need to singe the ends of the cord at cut points to avoid fraying. 5 High Quality 1/4 Inch Stretch Cord - Better Than Store-Made This is some of the toughest shock cord I've encountered. Although it's only 1/4 inch diameter, it pulls better than thicker ones stocked at building supply stores. I ordered it to use where 1/8" and 3/16" pre-made bungies were previously used, and could have ordered thinner stock, but the extra strength comes in handy. I recycle hook ends from worn-out store-bought bungies and use 3/8" and 1/2" "Hog Rings" (sausage closures - 100ct) and and inexpensive "hog pliers" for crimping the cord. I heat the cut cord end briefly with a small lighter and roll smooth with wet fingers to stop unraveling. I need to make custom-length bungies and other stretch cords for materials and tool storage use, and this cord is just right. 5 Great shock cord! I needed some bungee cord for my hiking day pack so I could easily stuff a coat/ shell up there or attach items easily. I found this product on Amazon and saw it was a Marine veteran owned company. I'm a Navy vet, so I researched the company and liked what I read. I debated between the 1/8" and the 3/16" (btw- that's the core rubber diameter, not the diameter with the diamond outer shell). Probably should have picked the 1/8", but the 3/16" is nicely stretchy even if a bit thicker than I needed. Bought the 25' so I could do my and my husband's packs. I have 9.5' of cord left to use for something else. I REALLY like the diamond grip exterior- it's not overly rough, but has really nice grippy feel- things aren't going to slide out. Shipping was fast, packaging was great and labeled well. The ends burned nicely with a lighter (doesn't burn too quickly or melt into a goopy mess). I will definitely remember Sgt Knots for any future shock cord needs- I'm impressed! 5 AMAZING QUALITY I didn't think there would be a quality difference with shock cord, but my initial investigations shows that this is a superior product. The bungee itself appears to be solid rubber, and not mad up of a bunch of strips like other brands. the shielding on the outside is a thick coat of nylon to help protect the rubber from the element.I bought some hooks with mine to make adjustable straps!EZ Install Adjustable Bungee Cord Hook, 10/pack 5 SGT KNOTS Black (3/16 inch) Bungee Cord is economically priced. I've used SGT KNOTS Black Elastic Bungee (3/16 inch) Cord in the past to replace the cord in the waste and bottom of my favorite hunting field jacket. It works better that the original nylon cord. It allows more freedom of motion and flexibility. I also used it for various various other out door projects. When the webbing on our gravity deck chairs wore out and broke I knew instantly what to do, I went to Amazon and reordered Sgt. Knots (3/16") bungee cord. It is strong, durable and lasts a long time. I would recommend it to my friends and any one requiring that type of product. I highly recommend this Bungee cord for all sorts of out door and sporting uses. 5 SGT KNOT is an outstanding business owner and person. Call and talk to him. I do not know SGT. I was simply looking for bungee cord for my kayak. Now to start with, I was not thrilled with the purchase. The cord feels soft/light weight. BUT do not let this turn you away... continue to read. I wanted something light weight, with roughness to it to hold gear in tack on kayak. It stretches 200%, just as advertised and is good. What I didn't like is I bought 3/16". It stretches way to easy I thought. Then I noticed that if I started with 18", after a few hard tugs it was now 20-22" long. So I called SGT. Spoke to the owner. GREAT person! GREAT customer service. He pointed out there were more heavy duty options in a marine grade then also 1 size bigger would be stronger. Offered a free return and replacement without any fees or questions... OR advised me to give it a try and touch back with him later. 6 months in, after the first initial stretch. I am pleased. Holds everything well. Even a HEAVY cooler (which looks funny floating on a kayak). No complaints to date, expect a little post stretch after the first cut a little down the road, great customer service. Good tip, add the little double hole beaner lock things in and have extra left when needed or pull out the slack when not. 5 Excellent cord for making your own bungee's....... I used this cord to make my own bungee's to hold a tarp on my boat and after the winter season these held up where the other store bought ones didn't. I would definitely buy this cord again, Very good price. 5 Really holds up! I bought this cord to add additional deck rigging to my kayak. It's only been subjected to freshwater so far, but everything is holding up well with exposure to the elements. It's good, heavy-duty stuff! 5
